Siavash began his career at 13 years of age recording his own piano performance using an ancient TEAC microphone and tape recorder. In 1993 he started his studies in Mechanical engineering (because there were no schools offering audio engineering courses where he lived). Being always amazed by music and production side of it, in 1995 he joined SIMIA, an audio and video production company, as a sound designer and jingle composer for TV advertisements.
Perhaps his interest in computer games dragged him to join SHAPARAK a multimedia and game production company in 97 to compose the theme music and designing game sound effects and mixing them. In the meantime he started to help a friend in SAHARA recording studio as an assistant sound engineer.
In 1999 Siavash was invited to teach Digital audio courses to the Media department staff of Payame Noor University (Distant Learning University).
This was a career changing offer for him, because for the next four years he was a resident sound engineer there with a wide range of responsibilities and projects such as designing a small audio recording studio, producing more than 20 educational audio CDs, converting the analog audio line to a fully digital stand alone recording/mixing system and producing more than 1000 hours of educational materials for the blind and distant learners.
During these four years he took part in a number of side projects as a freelancer as well.
In 2004, willing to progress further more, when he learned about SAE Malaysia offering Audio courses, he jumped at the chance to learn more and eventually received the diploma in audio engineering.
In 2006 he joined SAE Malaysia as a full time lecturer teaching several sound engineering subjects such as studio technology, Music theory and appreciation, Electronic music production and Studio Acoustics and music business.
In the same year he established his own audio and video production company and has been involved in number of projects.
In year 2007 he received the Digidesign ProTools operator level certificate and started to teach the same subject as a professional trainer. |

Yuvaraj had also worked with Malaysian hip hop artist Boomerangx, a nominee in last year’s RIM Awards. Apart from music production, he was also involved in radio and TV commercial production.
Over the years working at Digitaltones, Yuvaraj moved up from Assistant Engineer to the Studio Manager position.
Yuvaraj had also been engaged as a crew member in live sound production of the 1999 Philips International Jazz Festival, held in Malaysia. He is also a qualified ProTools Operator and Trainer, conducting ProTools 101 courses. Yuvaraj’s area of expertise in the music production environment has led him to the Audio Lecturer position at SAE Malaysia, after the completion of his BA (Honors) in Recording Arts degree from SAE Byron Bay.
Having involved in the music industry for the past 8 years, Yuvaraj is currently teaching Introduction to Audio Technology, Introduction to Studio Technology, and Advance Studio Studies at SAE Malaysia.

Started his humble beginnings as an AVID Editor at Asia Pacific Videolabs (APV) where he worked on various television commercials, music videos & documentaries. He gained massive exposure and in-depth knowledge about post-production and its sophisticated working mechanisms of various suites such as the Telecine, Off-line, On-line, 3D Animation, Audio Mixing and the VTR Room having worked under the guidance of professional and talented expatriates who managed the place then.
From there, he moved on to the field of Visual FX compositing working on Discreet Logic’s Flint. Projects which he worked on spanned from television commercials, corporate videos, logo and product launches, montages and video presentations for leading brand clientele such as Telekom, SIRIM, EMI Malaysia, Warner Music, KFC, Suzuki Vitara, Kurnia Insurance, to just name a few key ones. He also actively participated in the preparation of proposals and presentations for prospective customers covering budget allocations.
After being involved in the commercial scene for sometime, with a little twist of fate, he landed himself in the education scene where he was made the Head of Department of a semi-government company which was diversified in many areas.
The company was embodied under the Government’s Technology Development Cluster (TDC) programme where their main objective was to activate and promote the acceleration of the commercialization activities of both the local universities and research institutions. There, he lead and managed a team of professionals towards achieving organizational objectives as set by strategic senior management. He also assisted the CEO in the research and development and implementation of strategic projects and proposals. One of the key roles he undertook was as a Lecturer in Digital Film-making subjects where he taught digital editing techniques on AVID Xpress and Visual FX compositing on Discreet Logic’s Combustion.
Currently he is lecturing at SAE Malaysia in the Digital Film-making department.
He is teaching the techniques of Digital Editing and Visual FX compositing utilizing the Final Cut Studio 2 applications. Besides supervising the final year students, some of his key roles are into researching, designing and implementing new programmes and courses to constantly upkeep with the industry demands and standards.
To date, some of his students have won several awards in the local film scene in TVC and PSA categories. He has also been invited as a jury member for some of the local film competitions to ascertain the winners from a technical and creative aspect. Talking about creativity, he feels tattoo is a cool way of expressing creativity and looks cool on gals only if it is done right and maintained over time, else a tattoo of a butterfly may stretch into a condor.
Besides being passionate about film-making, he is also an avid reader and spends a lot of time reading books focused on success stories and motivational subjects. Li-Ka Shing and Steven Spielberg inspire him. His motto in life: “To be logically informed and emotionally inspired and be moved to recognize, develop and use all that is within me to become the best that I can be. Strive to enjoy this journey and touch others along the way”.

Aarif started his broadcasting career in 1986 when he joined TV3 as a Sound Technician. During his stint at TV3, he had undertaken various tasks in its audio operation – from single camera field recording, to voice dubbing, audio post-production, to live concert coverage. When TV3 opened its commercial post-production arm Animated and Post-production Techniques Sdn Bhd. in 1992, Aarif was seconded there to head the audio post team. It was while there that Aarif took time off to study sound engineering at SAE Kuala Lumpur, and later on, Corporate Communication at UPM. Aarif went on to work as Senior Audio EAarif's Writeditor at ASTRO, joining a team of international broadcast professionals in setting up the technologically-advanced All-Asia Broadcast Centre.
Aarif was then made the Audio Post Manager, running the broadcast centre’s audio post-production facilities as well as its in-house language dubbing unit. Aarif was also instrumental in establishing ASTRO’s audio standards committee which overseas the broadcaster’s audio broadcast technicalities. Although a technical man by training, Aarif fit in well in his management role, running both the audio post and language dubbing units single-handedly. He was instrumental in identifying Key Result Areas and Key Performance Index deliverables for his department, and thereon, in conducting staff performance assessment based on those deliverables. Aarif left ASTRO in 2003 to join Terra Garden Sdn. Bhd. as General Manager, overseeing its landscape and retail businesses. After a short stint there, he moved on to work with Million Frames as freelance communications consultant, managing its public relations and communication functions.
In 2005, Aarif took up his current position as Lecturer at SAE Kuala Lumpur. He lectures in audio post-production, broadcasting and digital film making fundamental studies. He is also actively involved in television production, specializing in script editing and translation.
